This work is based on a small pastel drawing inspired by some of the rural agricultural landscape I travel through on route from Perth to Hopetoun. Texture has been developed on the surface prior to painting.

This painting addresses aspects of the Fitzgerald Biosphere - wilderness and cultivated landscapes co-existing on the south coast of Western Australia. The mountains, waterways, bushland and farming are typical of the region where I live.
Adenanthos and Mountain

Adenanthos is a native plant which grows extensively along the south coast near Hopetoun and on my property. East Mount Barrens is a prominent landmark on the Fitzgerald Coast.

Kangaroos move through my property. They stop and stare at me as I stand on my verandah and the question comes to mind - who is the visitor? this being their habitat prior to me living here.
